Export documents to check before shipment from China
Document errors can delay customs even when the goods themselves are correct.
Core documents
Check the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, certificates and any category-specific documents required by the destination country.
Names and numbers must match
Company names, HS codes, quantities, carton counts, weights, Incoterms and product descriptions should be consistent across documents.
Check before loading, not after arrival
The best time to catch mismatches is before shipment leaves China. Once the goods are in transit, every correction becomes slower and more expensive.
Coordinate with the broker
Import-side requirements should be confirmed with your customs broker. The China-side check reduces avoidable errors before handoff.
Summary
A clean document set is part of shipment control, not an afterthought.
